Just like the prophet Hosea, whom God told to marry the harlot Gomer, He is married to the unfaithful adulterous backslider. His mercies are new every morning. This kind of love is hard to fathom because it has nothing to do with sexual pleasure or gratification. It has to do with the fact that Our Heavenly Father is not willing for anyone to perish. He will continue to woo us and deal with us until we either surrender to Him or give up altogether as Judas did.He is not like any other lover who demands anything materialistic in return, abuses us or demands to control us like a puppet. He just asks us to give Him our heart completely.
“Return, O backsliding children,” says the Lord; “for I am married to you. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion. “And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
