New Covenant Ministers…
Mary Ann Wray
The Lord calls all of His followers to be "ministers."
"He has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the
letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives
life." 2 Corinthians 3: 6
To
be an effective minister of the gospel and see people saved, healed and
delivered, there must be a marriage, so to speak, between the Word of
God and the Spirit of God. I'm still learning about Holy Spirit and have
much more to learn but I'm praying for more wisdom, discernment and
compassion so He can use me more effectively as an ambassador for
Christ.
The letter
kills but the Spirit gives life. Legalism (the word devoid of grace and
anointing) doesn't set anybody free. Also, if we just point out error
without providing the remedy through the Word of God and grace, we are
leaving out the main ingredient for living and walking in the liberty of
the Holy Spirit. But Holy Spirit inspired words of scriptural truth and grace coupled with His blessed gifts will set captives free.
"Such
is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we
are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our
sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a
new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter
kills, but the Spirit gives life."
2 Corinthians 3: 4-6

"But as it is, Christ
has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as
the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better
promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.
"For he finds fault with them when he says:
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah,
not like the covenant that I made with their fathers
on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt.
For they did not continue in my covenant,
and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord.
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws into their minds,
and write them on their hearts,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor
and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’
for they shall all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
For I will be merciful toward their iniquities,
and I will remember their sins no more.”
In
speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what
is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away." Hebrews 8: 6-13 ESV
“And
the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually]
saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of
the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who
is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception).”
John 1: 14 AMP
The Words of Jesus about Himself, should also become a prayer of his ministers today. Jesus is our example in all things.
"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he
has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound..."
Isaiah 61: 1
